Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus of Bukoba, Tanzania
Since 1933, the Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus of the Catholic Diocese in Bukoba. Tanzania have faithfully served the poor as missionary Sisters. This religious Order, now comprised of more than 450 Sisters, was founded in response to the tremendous needs of the people of East Africa. Guided by their community motto, “Here I am; send me” (Isaiah 6:8), the Sisters answer God’s call to serve beyond the borders of Tanzania, extending their missionary work into neighboring countries including Kenya and Burundi.
