St. Therese of the Little Flower Orphanage
Sponsorship Program
2006-2025
!
In 2006, St. Therese of the Little Flower World Mission established the St. Therese of the Little Flower Orphanage Sponsorship Program. Through this program, 55 children were supported from early childhood through young adulthood. The majority completed high school, vocational training, or college and are now living independently, breaking the cycle of poverty and building hopeful futures.
The final two children remaining at the Orphanage have now transitioned into the next chapter of their lives: one graduated from college, and the other, a child with special needs, was lovingly welcomed into the home of her brother and his family. These milestones mark the completion of the St. Therese of the Little Flower Orphanage and Sponsorship Program (2006–2025), a twenty-year journey sustained by the devotion of the St. Therese Sisters and the extraordinary generosity of our donors.
This mission began when the Sisters opened their home to 49 children in response to the genocide in Burundi. It flourished through the compassion of sponsors who lovingly shared in providing for the children’s care and education. Today, we rejoice in seeing these children grown, educated, and living independent lives rooted in the Catholic faith. They were given what matters most, and they have become a blessing in the world.
To our dear donors: thank you for your love, prayers, and countless gifts offered for the children and the Sisters over the years. And to the St. Therese Sisters: thank you for your many years of faithful, tender, and unwavering service. We are forever grateful to each of you!
